Be prepared for LOTS of pictures! Anna Therese Johnson joined the world on June 11, 2012 and is now 10 weeks old! She is a bright, alert, happy little bundle even though we had a rough patch for a few weeks. Mommy and Anna jumped through hoops to try to make breastfeeding work, but from 4-6 weeks, Anna was very upset and crying frequently. We finally gave her formula at 6 weeks to supplement breast milk and noticed an immediate difference in her comfort level. Since Anna was never a strong nurser, Mommy decided to start weaning since she was not producing enough milk to keep up with Anna's growing demand. We are finally on formula only and Anna is doing great! We miss that special time together, but know it was the best decision for both of us.
Here are some pictures of Anna's first day with us. And yes, silly Mommy and Daddy took a few pictures before she was born. After Mommy was induced, Anna was here within 4 hours! She was ready to meet us!
Anna was 8 pounds, 12 ounces at birth. Strong and healthy little girl!
Here is a picture of Alex and Anna meeting for the first time. There is a video at the end of the post showing their first encounter. Alex was scared to see Mommy in a hospital bed, but was thrilled to meet Pumpkin, his baby sister! There is a little girl named Hannah at day care, so of course Alex still slips and calls his sister the wrong name. We are working on it!

Anna LOVES to take bathes. She just enjoys being in the warm water and as she is getting older she seems to enjoy it more and more.
A few pictures of our trip to Minnehaha Falls while Grandma Penny visited. We really enjoyed the time with Grandma Penny!! Anna and Grandma snuggled all the time! At the park that day, Anna had a major blow-out!! Grandma was nice enough to rinse out her clothes while Mommy fed the baby and got her settled.

Anna loves to play on the floor with her big brother. A lot of times Anna is upset, Mommy asks Alex to go and talk to his sister. He always seems to brighten her mood.

Anna really started smiling and interacting around 6 weeks old. She loves to have girl talk with her Mommy!! Her favorite place to talk is on her changing table.

Anna's first trip down the slide with her big brother... won't be the last! This is Anna at 10 weeks! Sorry this blog has taken so long to be created, but I am sure you can imagine that Mommy has had her hands full! Anna will be starting day care on August 20, 2012 and Mommy is pretty sad about it but she knows Alex will look out for her. He is such a good big brother, and she already trusts him to protect her. It's amazing how instantly these two little ones bonded.
Anna already has tons of nick names which is common in our family, but Mommy's favorite is Anna Ba-Nu. Just seems to suit her!
